제 4 호 One Step for a Better Start
Kicker: EDITORIAL One Step for a Better Start by Eun-ji Lee, Editor-in-chief dmswl716@naver.com We prepared a COVER STORY about performance evaluation of The SM Herald webzine. Our Editors who will lead The SM Herald checked the improvements compared with the past when we published The SM Herald as a paper magazine. They also analyzed what needs to be modified to publish a webzine that is more helpful to students. Some articles in SOCIETY, ENTERTAINMENT, and WORLD were written by members who will leave The SM Herald next year. Leaving memories of The SM Herald behind, the feeling of writing the final articles must have been really heavy. I am also sad because the memories from being a Cub-reporter to becoming Editor-in-chief are so precious. However, I believe all the remaining members will lead The SM Herald in a better way, so I was able to write the last EDITORIAL with a comfortable mind. Lastly, I want to express my appreciation to the members who have been trying to make The SM Herald more useful. Eun-ji Lee, Editor-in-chief
제 3 호 Come Out of a Slump With Us!
Kicker: EDITORIAL Come Out of a Slump With Us! by Eun-ji Lee, Editor-in-chief dmswl716@naver.com Isn’t it really hard to adapt to campus life? Many students often fall into a slump after spending a two-month vacation. To keep an irregular life-style may have worn students out. Regardless of the reason, I think that students cannot concentrate on studying in September after summer vacation. When you fall into the slump, it will be a great method for you to recive help from others. We prepared a COVER STORY about useful programs and lots of events scheduled during the second semester. Therefore, you do not have to agonize alone to get out from the slump. In addition, new reporters of The SM Herald are going to deal with various subjects such as SOCIETY, SCIENCE, and WORLD in this issue. William Shakespeare said that, “To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first.” Likewise, you need to slow down and steadily go forward to your goal to overcome the slump. The SM Herald will support you by giving the information focusing on your needs. Eun-ji Lee, Editor-in-chief
제 2 호 How about Your First Semester?
Kicker: EDITORIAL How about Your First Semester? by Eun-ji Lee, Editor-in-Chief dmswl716@naver.com We have finished half of the year. How about your first semester? Maybe you are satisfied or unsatisfied with your last semester. Whatever the result, I would like to say for you that everything is going to turn out to be okay. The early bird catches the worm. It is nice to reflect on the past but preparation for the future is essential to reap contently. The SM Herald hopes for you to be an early bird and receive help from us. Therefore, we prepared a COVER STORY that introduces practical mobile applications for students and vacation programs being implemented at Sangmyung University. It will be a good chance for you to know the social welfare for students in the SOCIETY category. And also, in this issue, you can access the first articles of cub-reporters in the SM News category and get various kind of information from that. Steve Jobs said that the dots marked by you will somehow connect in your future. We want you to mark the meaningful dots that link between you and your successful future by using the information from our articles. Eun-ji Lee, Editor-in-Chief
제 1 호 New Start in the New Year
New Start in the New Year by Eun-ji Lee, Editor-in-Chief dmswl716@naver.com Welcome to the web magazine, SM Herald. SM Herald opened the online homepage after a long preparation period so we could meet you with a new format. Unlike the format of a traditional paper magazine, we will write varied news both inside and outside of the college through fixed kickers such as SOCIETY, ENTERTAINMENT, LIFE, etc. COVER STORY will mainly contain the articles that are related with our college. For example, the first COVER STORY is based on a survey of students. The story of students will be directly reflected in this category. We are a little bit worried because we have never tried online publishing before. However, it is an important element to communicate with readers in the connected society. Thus, the SM Herald will not miss the requirements of readers from the comments in the YOUR VOICE category. Sooner or later students will be able to meet the SM Herald at offline booths, and on social networking services. And also various events will be readied for readers because we are always agonizing about the methods of public relations to inform our webzine. Thank you for always giving us lots of your attention and love. Eun-ji Lee, Editor-in-Chief
